The Environmental Services department is currently accepting applications for the Casual position of Housekeeping Aide with Gateway Haven LTC. This position is an important part of the team that maintains a high quality of cleanliness, while providing infection, odour and pest control throughout the Home. Weekend and shift work is required. Casual staff do not have regularly scheduled hours, but are called to fill in as needed.

The successful candidate will be genuinely interested in caring for the elderly, in good physical condition (able to lift up to fifty pounds), possess good communication skills and be able to work independently when required.

The starting wage for this position is $23.29 and the successful incumbent would also recieve a percentage in lieu of benefits and vacation.

Applicants must have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Be familiar with Infection Control Guidelines

Experience:

• Experience with general housekeeping duties
• Experience in floor maintenance within an institutional setting is an asset
