Service Technician

Modern Distributors was founded over 50 years ago and today it’s one of the largest independent family-owned wholesale distributors in Kentucky.

This position will perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on equipment located within our customers’ facilities.

• Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on commercial beverage equipment including, but not limited to, coffee brewers, tea brewers, grinders, cappuccino machines, frozen beverage, and iced coffee machines.
  • Perform installation and setup of commercial beverage equipment.
  • Demonstrate effective trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.
  • Effectively manage time and resources to control costs, enhance efficiency, and meet commitments.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and staff.
  • Attend any applicable technical training and obtain any certifications or qualifications deemed necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Willingness to learn from experienced technicians and a desire to share knowledge with other technicians.
  • Desire to build customer relationships and develop a greater understanding of new and existing customer needs and expectations.
  • Desire to be an integral part of the team, building relationships with other team members.

• • Occasional lifting and/or carrying of equipment up to 70lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to be on-call occasionally on weekends and holidays for service requests.
  • Potential for 7-8 hours of driving time to and from jobs.
  • Potential for overnight stays for long-distance jobs or training.
• Qualifications & Experience:
  • Must have prior maintenance experience and knowledge of manual and electrical tools.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration preferred.
  • Prior experience on foodservice and/or beverage equipment a plus.
  • Prior experience with espresso and/or specialty beverage equipment a plus.
  • Prior experience on refrigeration equipment a plus.
  • Prior experience on vending machines a plus.
  • Any sort of certifications or qualifications in any of the above areas a plus.
• Experience
  • Service Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
