Our Global Cerner Technology Services team has an opening in our provisioning team for a Lead System Engineer. As a Lead System Engineer you will be providing administration, with a focus on Linux and Data Centre operations. You will be tasked with troubleshooting, investigating problems, and escalating issues.

You will provide system implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of Cerner’s solutions and services. You will also be documenting processes and procedures and providing overall support. As part of the UK Global Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for Cerner Clients in the UK but will also be required to engage in Cerner Clients in other Global regions.

Required profile:

Basic Expectations:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
•At least 5 years of System Engineering Work Experience
•Willingness to travel to 2 UK Datacenters in Slough and Welwyn Garden City 50% of time and work additional or irregular hours as needed. Must have access to car to travel to Datacenters.

Preferred qualifications:
•At least 3 years of Linux Administration work experience
•Basic understanding of datacentre architectures (i.e. Servers, Networking, Storage, Physical hardware, Virtualization).
•Familiar with the following languages/technologies/solutions: Linux, Chef, Kubernetes, GitHub, Jira Expectations:
•Will be required to do physical work at the Datacentre installing servers, network, storage equipment, as well as cabling and other logistics.
•Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
•May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment.
