Job Description

You’ll operate as part of the Wholesale Finance team, who are responsible for delivery of high-quality financial advice, insight and financial information to the Wholesale business.

You will work closely with the Wholesale business to assist in recording and reporting on actual performance against financial targets. Y

ou will contribute to the budgeting and planning process for the Wholesale business. You will build and maintain strong relationships with the Wholesale business to facilitate understanding of business activity, and to be able to interpret, understand and report on financial performance.

  • The core responsibilities of your team that you will contribute to are:
  • To ensure General Ledger integrity is maintained
  • To ensure the efficient preparation of monthly management accounts, including cash flow and Fixed Assets (including capital work in progress and useful life reviews), through the preparation/review of month end journals, work papers and balance sheet reconciliations; keeping a clear audit trail
  • Analysis and Board reporting of Contact’s monthly actual and forecast/budget performance
  • To ensure key management information is disseminated to relevant decision makers, such as Cost Centre and Project/Capital reporting
  • Coordination, analysis and presentation of regular forecasts and annual Budget and Five Year Business Plan from initiation to completion of the process
  • Design and implementation of financial analysis frameworks to allow improved insight and efficiency in financial analysis
  • Ensure the appropriate financial frameworks including control and processes are in place guaranteeing the integrity and accuracy of financial data and support segregation of duties
  • Processing of commodity invoices for payments

You will identify and/or assist the implementation of practical opportunities to enhance the value of the business, for example cost savings initiatives and working with the Finance Projects team to automate processes.

The type of experience you’ll bring to the role

  • Chartered Accountant professional qualification (or equivalent) or working towards and has accounting/business experience
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (preferably ERP systems), procedures, reporting, and other business systems
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting
  • Experience with evaluating and improving processes and controls
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Integrity and high personal and professional standards
