Job Description

Purpose of Role:

Global Researchers work in our 24/7 Global Assistance Centre (GAC), Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Their responsibilities are to research and record incidents using a variety of open sources and technologies in order to provide intelligent, timely, succinct and relevant information to develop situational awareness and inform clients.

Our Global Researchers will also monitor and respond (manage or escalate) to incoming check-ins, global SOS, or calls for general assistance initiated by our clients. They must be empathetic in their approach and able to provide clear, concise and supportive advice to mitigate risk and potential harm to clients’ employees and their assets.

They will adhere to Standing Operating Procedures, Emergency Response Protocols and plans, but must be able to quickly and clearly escalate to on-site management.  The role requires the use of advanced technologies including our risk management platforms to monitor the position of our clients and identify emerging risks.

Contact and Cooperation:

Works alongside the Global Assistance Associates, Senior Shift Engineers and is led on shift by the Global Assistance Coordinator. Communication and cooperation will be required with our Senior Intelligence Researchers, Regional Information Managers and Senior Analyst as part of their daily routine.

Key Requirements:

§  To become a trusted, integral and adept team member within the Global Assistance Centre operational environment

§  Prepare and provide emergency alerting and update of global emerging risks to clients and their personnel

§  Constantly update global travel risk management platform with travel risk and country specific alerts

§  Administrative duties to include basic platform management for alert creation

§  Actively monitor and manage a multi-functional computer platform

§  Advise and react to incidents dependent on type and escalate response and personnel as required

§  Update and inform Global Assistance Coordinator or Assistance Associates when incidents occur, and escalation of response if required

§  Answer GAC calls and provide timely and coherent initial advice and escalation

§  Ensure clear and recorded shift handover protocols are followed

§  Answer and log calls via VOIP system.

§  Responsible to be aware, up-to-date and adhere to all relevant SOPs and protocols

Qualifications

PREFERABLY ALREADY PRESENT IN DUBAI, THE CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO START BY 01 AUGUST 2021.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential Functions

§  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in the English language. CEFR B2 is the minimum requirement for listening, reading, speaking and writing

§  Adaptive mindset which is able to balance information with risk and likelihood

§  Active listener, able to analyse and interpret information to facilitate required response

§  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be comfortable talking to people in various emotional or sensitive states

§  Understanding of emergency response protocols and incident management

§  Able to work as part of a team

§  Maintain accurate administrative records and logs

§  Proficient on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

§  Global awareness in relation to geopolitical and risk related incidents and states

§  Ability to adapt to a flexible routine that will include 8-12 hour shift work, including periods of night duties.

§  Resident, or prepared to move to the UAE

§  Punctual

 

Preferred

§  Bi-lingual, English plus a second or multiple other languages

§  Experience of working as an open source researcher

§  Understanding or previous work within travel or risk management

§  Experience working with multiple cultures

§  Experience in the security industry, emergency services or a customer services role

§  Foreign Language knowledge would be favourable

§  Gregarious attitude with a robust sense of humour

§  Smart and presentable

§  Ability to operate various technical and communication equipment
