Job Description

We are currently looking for aĀ Group Fleet System EngineerĀ to join our growing team at Smit Lamnalco. As Fleet System Engineer, you will build, maintain and improve the planned maintenance system for the managed fleet.

Accountability and Responsibilities

  • Develop the maintenance strategy for the vessels in the vessel maintenance system (VMS)
  • Build and maintain a maintenance structure (based on ships specific documentation & data) that is to be transferred into the VMS.
  • Connect the vessel specific maintenance schemes to the equipment structure of the VMS.
  • Collect all ship specific documents (drawings, certificates, manuals, data) before implementation in the VMS
  • Develop training documents for the VMS and actively train joining staff in the use of the VMS and provide refreshing courses
  • Provide support and knowledge to (technical) shore staff and crew with regard to maintenance of technical equipment and the content of the VMS.
  • Manage communications with software supplier VMS with regard to technical aspects, such as performance and upgrades
  • Communicate with software supplier VMS about changes in master data
  • Advice on areas of improvement to increase the quality of the VMS.
  • Collaborate closely with Group Fleet Administrators on filing of documents and follow-up on tickets
  • Support the Group Data Engineer in disclosing relevant data from the VMS in dashboards
  • Manage other systems for the Group Fleet department as applicable
  • Assist the department manager(s) with various projects to further develop the Group Fleet Department

Qualifications

Requirements for the position

Educational background:

  • Bachelor, HBO or Higher professional education
  • Marine seafaring education and experience on board of a vessel

Work experience:

  • Relevant experience in the maritime/offshore industry, preferably with vessel maintenance systems
  • 1 to 3Ā years of relevant work experience in the maritime sector

The successful candidateĀ must be living in the NetherlandsĀ and being able to work in the Netherlands (being a local or in possession of a work permit). The language in our office is English.
